December 18, 2012 @ 7:00 PM

Meeting At: O'zone's Pizza
This month, because we are all so busy with the holidays, we will meet at our regular time but the presentation will be an overall view of Linux and some tips and tricks for those that are new to it. I'm going to be doing the main presentation but by no means do I hope to be the only person sharing. We will start with a Linux "history" and description of the various Linux distros as well as some basic terminology that gets tossed around but never explained. I'm hoping some of you can help with history and some of the distros I haven't used (I'm looking at you Slackware people) because I do not think I can give fair justice to something I have no experience with. Lets just relax, keep the topic light and eat some food with Linux friends! The next meeting is December 18th, 2012 at O'zones Pizza. Ah, last note: Not as a requirement but as a request this is ugly sweaters month so dust em off and wear em out.

September 18, 2012 @ 7:00 PM

Meeting At: 7pm, O'zones, Tuesday 18th of September
Whelp I have been out of town, and haven't really been able to ask anyone to speak at the next meeting. Also because I was out of town I haven't been able to come up with anything on my own. All of this matters very little because with no speaker there is still LINUX. So let's take a break this month and do a round table, nothing formal but same time, same place. I want to go over some serious stuff too, including our friends at ECC Makers. So far I have had a lot of luck with them, and I think a lot of our goals can be shared successes. I also have been in contact with the Emerald Coast LUG and they have expressed a desire to partner up with us. Let's spend a meeting talking about these things, hanging out and eating some pizza. RSVP if possible. I'd like to get an idea of how many people this list reminds. Thanks!
